The following represent the four main categories of animals we commonly have in our store (although "special guests," who do not fit neatly into one of the categories, can show up at anytime!), plus there's The Jungle, our own special exhibit:
Our employees must be comfortable around all our animals, be able to handle them gently with a great eye for the best care, and be willing to help feed and otherwise care for them.
There's plenty of opportunity to gain great experience, and it's true that there's "never a dull moment" at Walter's World!

Duties & Details
About You
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Applicants from all walks of life are invited to apply; preference may be given to college students.
- Must have dependable transportation to and from work.
- Must be able to work during daylight business hours.
- Must have a desire to work with a variety of animals.
- No pet store experience necessary. Animal lovers and/or people with pets of their own make interesting job candidates.
- Present a clean, groomed appearance.
- Be honest, and able to conduct yourself with courtesy and great manners.
- Able to demonstrate great customer service and professionalism, with a fun-loving and calm attitude.
- Be willing to perform all kinds of duties in a bustling, busy shop.
- Accept supervision, but also carry out assigned duties responsibly on your own.
- Like to stay busy, and have an eye for identifying things that need to be done next.
About the Job
- Help prepare the store for opening.
- Assist customers.
- Staff the cash register.
- Answer the telephone.
- Help unpack and stock merchandise.
- Assist in cleaning the store.
- Help feed and water the various animals we carry.
- Help with closing duties at the end of the day.
- Part-time hours, with a varying schedule.
- Starting rate: minimum wage, with opportunities for advancement with a stellar job performance.
