

This is a melanistic form of the Spotted Genet


Genets are native to Africa, Southern Europe, Asia, Madagascar, the Philippines, and East Indies. There are over 71 species in the family of Viverridae. The large spot being the most commonly seen species in the United States.Genets have very long lifespans (15+ years), and can be very good pets. They are very shy animals that are nocturnal and diurnal in habits. Their diet consist of cat food, fruits, insects, and small mammals. They are excellent climbers, and can breed year round.
